Company History

The Great Plains Towers story begins in the early 1950s, roughly the same time Americans began their love affair with the new medium of television. Just as Uncle Miltie, Sid Caesar, Lucy and Ricky were filling America's living rooms with laughter, Ron Reski opened A-1 Radio and Television in Moorhead, Minn., under contract to RCA Service Company.

As his business evolved over the next few years, Ron found himself doing a good deal of work with communications towers and commercial antenna systems, and soon earned a strong reputation for his prompt service and attention to detail. In 1959, he decided to change the name of his business to Ron's Electronics to reflect the company's diversity of services.

In 1974, when Ron’s son, Kevin, joined Ron’s Electronics full time, the company decided to focus entirely on tower maintenance and erection services. In 1990 the name was changed to Great Plains Towers history. The company moved to its current location in West Fargo, North Dakota in 1992. From the West Fargo home office, services have been provided all over the upper Midwest and beyond to projects as far away as Argentina and Antarctica.

Great Plains Towers continues to grow as a leader in the tower industry.
